Larkin Express Logistics is seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to oversee operations at our Houston, Texas location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brokerage, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
Job Summary:
The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's operations, including warehousing, transportation, customer service, and business development. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimize processes, manage teams effectively, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing all administrative, operational and sales functions of the branch
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
- Managing operations to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded
- Overseeing HR administration including performance and staffing
- Maintaining responsibility of branch and providing monthly performance updates
- Performing additional duties as assigned
- Drive business growth through new client acquisition and expansion of services with existing clients
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in logistics/transportation with focus on business development and P/L management
- Freight brokering/dispatching: 2 years (Required)
- Freight brokerage or account management experience
- Transportation experience in dispatch and/or operations
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations
- Book of business (truck base or customer base)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of electronic transportation platforms and software
- Willing to be available after hours and weekends, as needed
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Strong work ethic
- Detail oriented with the ability to maintain a positive attitude towards employees and customers
Position located in Houston, TX. Compensation commensurate with experience.
